Dental Exams & Cleanings:
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist
at your initial visit. At your periodic maintenance visit, Dr.
Germaine and the hygienist will include the following:
- Examination of diagnostic x-rays: Essential for detection
of decay, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help to determine
tooth and root positions.
- Oral Cancer Screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue,
throat, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Gum Disease Evaluation: Check the gums and bone around the
teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
- Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked
for decay with special dental instruments.
- Examination of existing restorations: Check current fillings,
crowns, etc.
Low Radiation X-Rays:
We always strive to provide our patients with the most advanced
technology. You will be pleased to know that your safety is increased
with our low radiation x-rays. They are immediately viewable by
you and Dr. Germaine on the computer monitor located in your treatment
room.
Dental Implants:
Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and
also provide a fixed solution to having removable partials or
complete dentures. Implants provide excellent support and stability
for these dental appliances.
Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth that are surgically
placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. The teeth attached to
implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore
a patient's smile. They are very strong, stable, and durable and
will last many years. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular
dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.
Porcelain Veneers:
Porcelain Veneers may be just the esthetic solution for you to
achieve the perfect white smile you desire. Veneering a tooth
means to cover its facial, or front, surface. A fine layer of
porcelain is bonded to the tooth to dramatically enhance its position,
size, color and shape. Porcelain veneers are as strong as your
own teeth and can be employed to eliminate spaces between teeth
and reshape small, worn, or otherwise imperfect teeth. Veneers
can also be used to cover stained or discolored teeth.
Tooth Whitening:
Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental
treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and
is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.
Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic
concern of most patients, there a a number of ways to whiten teeth.
We do offer the one hour laser zoom 2 whitening and a home tooth
whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Since whitening
only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate
replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc.
Porcelain Fillings:
Old, unsightly mercury (silver) fillings are removed and replaced
with porcelain ones. The porcelain holds the tooth structure together,
strengthening the teeth.Porcelain fillings offer patients metal-free
dentistry, which allows light to flow through and reflect off
the teeth, leaving a more natural smile.
Dental Bonding:
Dental bonding involves techniques where special tooth colored
dental resins and composites are used to change the shape and
color of teeth as well as to close spaces. Using bonding material
that matches your own tooth color, Dr. Germaine, reshapes and
restores chipped or broken teeth and covers stained or discolored
teeth. Be confident that dental bonding will create a spectacular
new smile for you that is very natural in appearance.
